Who we are
End Abortion Iowa Mission/Doctrinal Statement
Preamble:
End Abortion Iowa is composed of Bible-believing Christians from various Protestant denominations across the state of Iowa to obtain equal protection for the unborn through the total abolition and criminalization of abortion in our state. End Abortion Iowa exists and operates as the legislative education and advocacy arm of the abortion abolition movement in the state of Iowa, and works alongside sister abolitionist organizations such as The Protestant Pastors in Iowa group and Iowa Abolitionists.
The Lordship of Christ:
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was the Word (logos) made flesh during his earthly ministry (John 1:1-2), lived a perfect life in obedience to the law of God, willingly gave himself to die for sinners on the cross according to the Scriptures and the predestined plan of God the Father (Acts 4:27-28), was raised from the dead by the power of God where he was given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18-20), ascended into heaven and is currently ruling and reigning as victorious King at the right hand of God the Father (Psalm 110:1; Mark 12:36, 16:19; Luke 22:69; Acts 7:55-56, etc).
It is on the basis of Christ’s authority that His church is commanded to disciple all nations and teach them to obey all that Christ commanded (Matthew 28:18-20). Inherent in the command to disciple the nations is the idea of applying the truth of Scripture to every area of life which includes civic engagement.
End Abortion Iowa seeks to fulfill the discipleship mandate by bringing the Word of God in conflict with modern day child sacrifice (abortion) in our state, and speaking with a prophetic voice to our civil rulers and those in authority in the state of Iowa.
Affirmations and Denials:
We affirm that by the abolition of abortion, Iowa is calling for equal protection for all humans from conception to natural death under the law, recognizing that every individual, regardless of developmental stage, location, or dependency, possesses inherent dignity and the right to life as image-bearers of God, and that the state has a duty to defend the innocent from violence without discrimination.
We deny that any group should be targeted or exempted specifically for persecution, and that perpetrators of abortion should face equal justice regardless of gender, race, or age, rejecting any notion of selective enforcement or immunity that would undermine the impartiality of the law in protecting human life.We affirm that equal justice demands the recognition of human life beginning at the moment of fertilization, where a unique, living human being comes into existence with full moral and legal personhood.
We deny that life begins at implantation, viability, birth, or any other arbitrary milestone, as such definitions arbitrarily exclude vulnerable humans from protection and enable injustice.\We affirm that abortion is the intentional homicide of an innocent human being and must be criminalized as murder under Iowa law, with appropriate penalties to deter and punish such acts.
We deny that abortion is a form of healthcare, reproductive rights, or personal choice, as it directly violates the fundamental right to life and cannot be justified under any circumstances. We affirm that equal protection under the law prohibits any exceptions for abortion in cases of rape or incest, as the child's innocence must not be punished for the crimes of others, and justice requires protecting all victims.
We deny that situational ethics or emotional appeals justify discriminating against certain unborn children, as this perpetuates a hierarchy of human value contrary to abolition. We affirm that mothers who intentionally procure abortions, along with providers and accomplices, must be held accountable under equal justice, as true abolition treats all participants in homicide equitably while offering pathways to mercy through repentance.
We deny that women should be exempted from legal consequences as "victims" of abortion, as this paternalistic view undermines personal responsibility and the equal application of the law.We affirm that immediate and total abolition is the only righteous path, calling for legislation that nullifies all abortion permissions without delay or compromise.
We deny that incremental regulations, such as heartbeat bills or gestational limits, advance equal justice, as they implicitly sanction some abortions and delay full protection for the unborn. We affirm that the Iowa Constitution and U.S. Constitution, properly interpreted, support the right to life from conception, obligating lawmakers to enact laws establishing equal protection.
We deny that judicial precedents like Roe v. Wade or Planned Parenthood v. Casey hold moral authority, as they enshrine injustice and must be repudiated in favor of biblical and natural law principles. We affirm that churches and Christians in Iowa have a biblical mandate to proclaim the gospel, advocate for abolition, and engage in cultural and political efforts to end abortion now.
We deny that the church should remain silent or neutral on abortion abolition, as apathy or separation from "politics" abandons the prophetic call to defend the fatherless and oppressed. We affirm that true equal justice includes offering forgiveness and restoration through Jesus Christ to those who have participated in abortion, emphasizing repentance, healing, and new life in the gospel.
We deny that past involvement in abortion is unforgivable or defines a person's identity, as God's grace extends to all who turn from sin and seek mercy. We affirm that abortion abolition requires defunding all organizations and facilities that promote or perform abortions, redirecting resources to life-affirming alternatives like adoption and crisis pregnancy centers.
We deny that taxpayer funds should support the abortion industry under the guise of "health services," as this complicity in evil contradicts the principles of equal protection. We affirm that equal justice includes prohibiting chemical abortions, such as those induced by mifepristone and misoprostol, treating them as equivalent to surgical homicide.
We deny that at-home or self-managed abortions deserve leniency, as the method of killing does not alter the moral or legal gravity of the act.We affirm that lawmakers in Iowa who fail to pursue abolition are derelict in their duty and should be held accountable by voters committed to equal protection.
We deny that abolition rhetoric without abolitionist action suffices, as mere opposition to abortion without legislative abolition enables its continuation. We affirm that education on human development, the horrors of abortion, and the value of life must be integrated into Iowa's public discourse and schools to foster a culture of abolition.
We deny that society should normalize abortion through euphemisms or silence, as this desensitizes people to the reality of child sacrifice. We affirm that equal justice prohibits discrimination based on disability, with abortion abolition protecting unborn children diagnosed with conditions like Down syndrome.
We deny that eugenic abortions are acceptable, as they devalue human life based on perceived "quality" and echo historical atrocities. We affirm that the abolition movement is rooted in the imago Dei, affirming that all humans bear God's image and deserve protection from conception.
We deny that secular philosophies, such as bodily autonomy absolutism, override the divine command against shedding innocent blood. We affirm that intercessory prayer, peaceful protests at abortion facilities, and rescue efforts align with equal justice by directly intervening to save lives.
We deny that violence or vigilantism has any place in abolition, as true change comes through lawful, gospel-centered advocacy. We affirm that adoption and foster care systems in Iowa must be strengthened as part of abolition, providing loving alternatives to abortion.
We deny that economic hardship or family circumstances justify abortion, as society bears responsibility to support mothers and children. We affirm that equal justice includes banning research or practices that exploit aborted fetal tissue, honoring the dignity of the unborn even after death.
We deny that scientific advancement excuses the commodification of human remains from abortion, as this perpetuates a culture of death. We affirm that abolitionists in Iowa collaborate with national movements to share resources, strategies, and testimonies for ending abortion statewide and beyond.
We deny that the focus to end abortion in our state hinders the broader fight for equal justice, as abortion's evil transcends state borders. We affirm that media and cultural influencers have a role in promoting abolition by exposing abortion's realities and amplifying abolition voices.
We deny that biased reporting or censorship of abolitionist perspectives should be tolerated, as truth must prevail in public discourse. We affirm that youth and future generations in Iowa must be equipped with abolitionist principles to sustain the movement long-term.
We deny that abortion abolition is an outdated cause, as each new generation inherits the duty to protect the vulnerable. We affirm that international human rights standards align with abolition when they recognize the unborn's right to life, inspiring Iowa to lead by example.
We deny that cultural relativism excuses abortion in any society, as equal protection is a universal moral imperative. We affirm that ultimate victory in abortion abolition comes through God's sovereignty, with End Abortion Iowa committing to faithful obedience until abortion is ended in our state.
We deny that human efforts alone suffice without divine intervention, as abolition is a spiritual battle requiring prayer, perseverance, and proclamation of the gospel. We affirm that one can be a sincere, spirit-filled Christian without holding to the abolitionist position.
We deny that arbitrary incrementalism is consistent with the law of God.
